Microsoft Office 2011 For Mac Os X Lion: A Comprehensive Review

To get the update, just open one of your Office 2011 programs and click on Help and then Check for Updates or you can go to the Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac website. An auto updater will download first and then the critical patch will be downloaded by the auto updater.

1. Open Terminal2. Type defaults delete com.microsoft.Outlook, to delete the old preferences3. killall cfprefsd (to kill the cached prefs)4. Launch Outlook(warning:it might delete your 2011 prefs if you have any; I had alreadyuninstalled 2011 because I never use it by the time I tried this and itfixed my problems)

Hi all, I have the same problem but so far only with MS Publisher from Office 2011 for mac. I use El Capitan as OS on my iMac 2011 model and Macbook Pro 2012 model. So far Publisher crashes only on the iMac. I just have downloaded OnyX and I will give it a try.

Eligibility to download Microsoft Office on Columbia-owned devices is generally limited to University officers, support staff, faculty and specific graduate/professional students at CUIMC and CBS.

That sounds really nice. When I changed from windows to Mac, I was disappointed by the much worse Word plugin of Mendeley in comparison. I am looking forward to particularly that feature on Mac being updated! The screenshot looks very promising. Therefore I am happy to volunteer to test the new version. However, I just downloaded the new preview version and wanted to try it. The software runs smoothly, but when I try Tools > Install Word plugin, I receive an error message. The old word plugin is gone and a new one is not possible to install. Please tell me as you solve this problem, then I will be happy to try again. Meanwhile I have switched back to the old version of Mendeley. (I am using Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and MS Word 2011, both with all latest updates).

In a friend's Mac, download the desired OS installer (High Sierra in my case for my MacBook Pro Late 2011 - google "How to Download a Full macOS High Sierra Installer App") and create the bootable USB, HDD or even SSD with Disk Creator (2 steps very friendly freeware tool - google "disk creator").

Also don't have an answer but I have got a completely wiped iMac late 2011 trying to install Lion (or just any OS for that matter!). Read through all the comments, tried the date/time fix in Terminal but no year between 2009 to now makes any difference, same error- cant download additional components needed to install Mac OS". And if connecting to WIFI overrides the date/time fix then how are you supposed to install the OS? Connecting to Safari via MAC Utilities and downloading it doesn't work either because you download the dmg file but because theres no OS, theres nothing to then open the dmg file?!?! Help!

Referring to optional replacement for Office 2011, I have found that the latest version of Libre Office (v.6.03) works very well once you get used to the different layout. A major advantage is it is free.

Oct 7 Update: Microsoft has now released a fix for Office 2011 crashing in El Capitan (Update 14.5.6). You can download it from Microsoft directly or use Microsoft AutoUpdate in Office to update it automatically. If the update does not work for you, the fixes below are still worth trying.

What do I get? Office 365 Home Premium lets you install Office 2013 (for Windows) or Office for Mac 2011 (OS X) on up to as many as five PCs or Macs. Also included: 20GB of SkyDrive storage -- above and beyond the 7GB everyone gets for free -- and 60 Skype international calling minutes per month.

If you don't need anything too ambitious, Skype may be the best place to start. To begin with, odds are that you and your cohorts already have the program. If you don't, it's free to download and use. Skype also makes Android and iOS clients, although they don't support multiperson videoconferencing, just conventional one-on-one video chat. 2ff7e9595c
