The Azure Bot resource (bot resource) allows you to register your bot with Azure Bot Services and to connect your bot to channels. You can build, connect, and manage bots to interact with your users wherever they are, from your app or website to Teams, Messenger and many other channels.

Also, you can register your bot and even enable the channels without deploying to Azure or any other hosting. You can temporarily use ngrok to create a secure tunnel to your localhost environment and test the bot in your email channel before exposing it to other users. BTW, you don't need to Publish your bot in the BotFramework portal, just register it. Publishing is just for those bots that would like to appear in the Bot Directory.

NOTE: When registering your bot on the Microsoft Bot Framework, you needed to assign a messaging endpoint, which you may have left blank earlier. If that was the case, you'll want to return and ensure that you set it to the URL where your bot now lives using the format as seen below:

Inside the Bot Application you created earlier, in your Web.config file, copy and paste your Bot Handle in the slot for BotId, App ID into the value slot for MicrosoftAppId, and the same for the MicrosoftAppPassword you obtained when you registered your bot.

These Microsoft Teams apps can be sideloaded into your Microsoft Teams groups or channels for use by your members. If you want control over your bot's branding and permissions or multiple purpose-specific bots, Enterprise Workbots are for you.
